Project Reveal: Claremont Remodel

We had so much fun working alongside our clients to update their outdated home. A worn out fireplace, closed off kitchen and a unique rock wall bar that was awkwardly placed in the living room all needed a facelift and a new life for a growing family. We used a luxury vinyl floor from Shaw throughout the main part of the home to give the space a warm and welcoming vibe.

We reworked the space plan of the entire front of the house to make it more functional. The kitchen was moved out of its tiny nook to the back wall, which is centered between the dining room and the living room. This created a perfect line of sight into both rooms so the parents can easily keep an eye on the kids. We also added in a long island in the center to provide more storage and prep space as the kids love to help their parents prepare meals. Quartz countertops were selected based on their easy-to-care-for qualities and we carried this up for the backsplash behind the stove to create a more modern vibe and for easy cleanability.

The old kitchen was turned into a breakfast nook where they can easily seat up to ten people for gatherings and art projects.

The fireplace was removed to make room for a 72” smart TV. We selected a reconfigurable sofa so the family would have flexibility to change the layout of their spaceif they need change. The sofa has fabric coverings on all sections that can be easily removed and washed.

The old dining room was turned into a haven for the kids: the ultimate playroom! Commercial carpet tiles were installed for easy maintenance and if one gets a stain that just won’t come out, it can easily be replaced. A large interactive fort with a loft was selected to gives the boys a space; storage was essential in this space, as the parents do not like seeing a mess. Now the kids can throw their toys in their proper place after playing.

We turned their two-bathroom home into a two and a half bathroom home by splitting up a long and awkward bathroom into the kids bath and a half bath for guests. As you can tell, sourcing and installing materials that are easy to care for and clean was essential in the redesign of this space. Kohler Choreograph wall panels were selected to avoid using grout. The Choreograph locker system was also used in the kid's bathroom and master shower for maximum flexibility as the family needs change over time.
